Three years ago, when I first began to struggle to keep up with the overwhelming demand for our wreaths, which are all painstakingly hand made, and each one takes at least 5 hours,a James came up with an idea to help. He cleverly suggested we offered wreathmaking workshops so that I could teach ladies to make their own wreath themselves, using the materials I've spent years sourcing and the techniques I've developed and perfected... Rather like women all over the country attend Christmas wreathmaking evenings, these would be all day because artificial wreaths take so much longer to make than fresh ones, but they have the benefit of looking fresh for years. We would offer bespoke themed cakes made by specialists, have a professional chef to create the lunches and it would all be overseen by the lady who used to manage outside catering for The Ritz! Our venue was breathtaking, the baskets of wreathmaking goodies look stunning, and the best ingredient of all were the women who came from all over the UK to join us. We LOVED hosting the wreathmaking events, it was magical to spend the whole day immersed in wreathmaking, surrounded by like minded people, all talking about flowers, Christmas and our lives. They were my favourite events of the year. We were invited all over the UK to replicate them in different venues countrywide. And then Covid hit.
We had to take the difficult decision not to run the planned Mothers Day and Christmas Workshops just due to the difficulties of offering face to face events. This was such a blow to me personally as I was an Art teacher for ten years before my children were born. I am passionate about teaching wreathmaking and was so disappointed.
As we realised that many Christmas wreathmaking workshops all over the country would be cancelled this year, we simultaneously started receiving enquiries for wreathmaking kits which we'd begun to develop and had filmed for. These kits essentially offer remote access to the Wreathmaking workshop days out, we send you all the materials you need, including a half hour video tutorial where I show you step by step how to make our most popular wreath.
